So i finally caught Be kind Rewind last night and it was pretty good. It had alot of great ideas and was alot of fun. Some of the themes were about how people love movies and connect with them, as well as make movies themselves. One scene (also seen in the trailer) has the movie studios coming down on Mos Def and Jack Black's operation. Kind of describing the way the studios seem more worried about making money and protecting their assets instead of making FILMS.

Anyways, after finishing the movie it seemed ironic that the theatrical cut was controlled by the studio rather than the director because alot of scenes seemed to be missing.

The movie had a lot of great parts though, a few had me crackin up so hard i was crying. seriously. I dont think anythings made me laugh that hard in awhile. But this movie's not for everyone.

On another note ive gone thru a few books since I got my job at Oldnavy.com. Its pretty nice having something good to read when youve got a long ass bart ride to and from work.

During my almost 8 months there ive read:

The Eighth Promise: An American Son's Tribute to His Toisanese Mother
A great book about the relationship between the author and his mom, and the toisan/Chinese values she taught him and his brother growing up in San Francisco in the 70s
http://www.amazon.com/Eighth-Promise-American-Tribute-Toisanese/dp/1594868115/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204397457&sr=1-1

A biography on Charles Schultz
Pretty interesting read but not for everyone. Perfect for peanuts fans.
http://www.amazon.com/Schulz-Peanuts-Biography-David-Michaelis/dp/0066213932/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204397407&sr=8-1

Heat: An Amateur's Adventures as Kitchen Slave, Line Cook, Pasta-Maker, and Apprentice to a Dante-quoting butcher in Tuscany
A magazine editor's story about going from amateur to an expert in the kitchen
http://www.amazon.com/Heat-Adventures-Pasta-Maker-Apprentice-Dante-Quoting/dp/1400034477/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204397651&sr=1-1

The Watchmen
Dark superhero graphic novel - I dont want to spoil it. Just check it out if you like well written complex superhero stories.

http://www.amazon.com/Watchmen-Alan-Moore/dp/0930289234/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204397863&sr=8-2

i also finished this book which i started like 2 years ago:

Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001
If you were interested in finding out what happened in Afghanistan in the 20 or so years leading up to 9/11, this book is for you.
http://www.amazon.com/Ghost-Wars-Afghanistan-Invasion-September/dp/0143034669/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204398142&sr=1-1

It's Business Time

"Makin’ love for two.
Makin’ love for two minutes.
When it’s with me you only need two minutes, ‘cause I’m so intense. Two minutes in heaven is better than one minute in heaven. You say something like, “Is that it?” I know what you’re trying to say. You’re trying to say, “Aww yeah, that’s it.” Then you tell me you want some more. Well I’m not surprised. But I’m quite sleepy."

OHHHHH YEAHHHH.... Thanks to the copy team at work for introducing me to Flight of the conchords, havnt laughed like this in awhile. DVD drops in nov!
